Contracts done as W-2 Hourly

  Newmont Mining Corporation (NEM), 05/2010-07/2010

This contract was with Straightline Consulting, to their end client, Newmont Mining Corporation. The solution involved migrating Newmont’s Documentum solution from a previous provider ( DTE Energy–DTE) back to Newmont Mining. The project is based in Elko, NV. I won this portion of the project for Straightline by competing against other EMC/Documentum partners on the bid. I am solely responsible for architecting their Documentum solution, and importing thousands of legacy documents from their previously outsourced Documentum solution. I wrote a small java import utility to import all documents with their attributes, folders, etc as they were in the previous solution managed by DTE. The solution involves VMware, SQL Server, Windows 2008 and Documentum 6.5sp3.

Domain Systems is a small engineering software consulting firm. I was responsible for training and mentoring of new hires within DSI. I assured they received proper training and guidance for all Documentum EDMS and Agile PDM implementations. Oracle PLM (Previously Agile Software Inc Oracle acquired Agile, a leading provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software solutions. Agile's PLM solutions drive the product innovation and introduction process in a variety of industries, including high-tech, life sciences, industrial manufacturing and consumer packaged goods. I was the technical industry expert within DSI for all Documentum and Agile projects. I also wrote and coded a proof of concept for an integration product between Documentum and Agile. DSI was the first partner of Agile to outsource Agile implementations. I was the first person outside of Agile employees to run an Agile implementation. I installed and configured our internal Oracle databases for Documentum and Agile. While at DSI, I was actively engaged at various customer sites and projects. Some of them are listed below.

EMC/Documentum
Documentum Trainer. 3/1997-3/2000. Taught Documentum's technical and end user courses for Documentum's Educational Services Department. I also taught courses at the Documentum's training facilities nationwide and at Documentum's customer sites globally. Additionally, I taught Documentum's partners and Documentum's new employees a one-week "quickstart" course on a quarterly basis. Part of the technical courses I taught covered database and OS tuning tips for Documentum.

Intel Corporation
9/1999-3/2000. Senior technical developer/lead. This project kept track of Intel's top secret documents. It included synchronization of Documentum 4i with various other products and vendors (Authentica encryption application, Xerox data-glyphs for print on demand, etc). The user interface was entirely web driven (ASP, Java COM objects talking to Documentum's Java classes using NT IIS 4.0 Web Server). This project interfaced with various other security applications already in place at Intel. This project was a multi-million dollar, 2-3 year development investment for Intel. I installed and configured the Documentum databases (Oracle 8.1.5).

Iomega Corporation

Symbios Logic Corporation (now LSI)
11/1997-12/1997 and 3/1998-7/1998. Sr Developer. I created a proof of concept to gather customer requirements and prototype a document management system. Symbios did purchase Documentum and I followed up a few months later to lead their initial implementation working with their project manager and a team of 3 developers. The project included the design, development and deployment of both desktop client and web client customizations. Created a dataload tool to batch import documents from files system into Documentum's repository using Documentum API's.

Allied Signal
2/2000-3/2000. I Performed an initial analysis for an upgrade of Allied's Documentum EDMS 98 system to Documentum 4i. I lead and guided upgrade activities. Allied was using various EDMS 98 client side customizations. I rewrote some of them to be compatible with 4i. The database was Oracle and OS was Unix.

Intel Corporation
8/1999-9/1999. Sr Developer. I came in to save a project that was failing. The project was on the verge of failure when our company was called in to salvage and correct what had been done up to that point. Another company who had very little knowledge of EDMS and Documentum was in charge of the project and it was being lead down the wrong road. This project was watched by the stock market. In the 3 weeks I assisted, I successfully put the project back on schedule for production release and paved the way for other employees from my company to follow up. Domain Systems eventually won the contract entirely and the other provider was kicked out.

Intel Corporation
10/1998-9/1999. Sr Developer. I lead the development and deployment of a project based out of Chandler, AZ. My team included customer representatives, programmers, and an Intel project manager.   UG/Manager Team. Developer. I developed on UNIX (IBM, SUN and HP) and designed, developed, coded and tested new functionality for UG/Manager. (UG/Manager is a product, which allowed the Unigraphics CAD/CAM system and the Information Manager PDM system to smoothly work together.) I wrote internal code for both Unigraphics and Information Manager (IMAN).
